1) в техническом зрении робота - постоянная локализация (определение местоположения) заданного элемента изображения каждого объекта в последовательности входных данных. Эта проблема обычно усложняется из-за шумов датчиков, движений в сцене, перемещений наблюдателя, ограничений реального времени - особенно в случае необходимости следить за несколькими объектами одновременно
2) в человеко-машинном интерфейсе (human-machine interface) - распознавание лица человека для установления его идентичности
